The Challenge

Stores were ordering multiple times over the space of a short period, resulting in higher delivery costs, higher pick and pack charges, and multiple deliveries into stores meaning that staff were checking in goods, taking them away from selling flooring.

Our Solution

Using our MauveTech platform, our MauveFulfilment team worked with Carpetright to look at their ordering patterns and trends. We proposed optimising shipping cycles to fortnightly, while still allowing stores to place urgent orders when something is needed. Stores would still be able to place an order, but it would be through the centralised MauveTech platform, and picked and delivered at two weekly intervals.

The Result

In some instances, stores saved up to 50% on delivery costs, alongside additional savings on packing and delivery. As an important measure for Carpertright, the carbon footprint has also been reduced through deliveries being reduced.
